The core idea

Brilliant work that no one acts on is a problem worth fixing.

Most technical people are taught to build, prove, and refine. Very few are taught how to make that work land, how to move it from something impressive into something used, funded, and championed.

This workshop closes that gap in a single, intensive day. It is not about spin or self-promotion. It is about clarity: understanding what your work is, who it helps, and how to make that obvious to the people who decide what happens next.

The promise to participants

You leave with four things you did not have that morning.

01

Clarity on the value

A sharp, honest articulation of what the work is, who it helps, and why it matters now.

02

A story that travels

A narrative that keeps the technical substance intact while reaching non-specialists.

03

A route to the decision

A map of the people, priorities, and conversations that stand between the work and action.

04

A 30-day plan

Concrete next actions, owners, and deadlines, so momentum continues after the day ends.

Why it works

The cost of being misunderstood is real.

Guild members are exceptional at the work itself. The recurring frustration is not capability. It is being understood, backed, and acted upon. That gap shows up again and again:

  • Research

Their research stalls because the right people never grasp its importance.

  • Product

Their product is strong but its value is not obvious to buyers or leadership.

  • Proposals

Their proposal is technically sound yet fails to win approval or funding.

  • Platforms

Their platform solves a real problem but adoption is slow and uneven.

Not a conventional seminar

You work on your own real project, all day.

There are no generic case studies and no passive slides to sit through. Every participant brings one real piece of work and improves it, step by step, through the day.

Short teaching segments are followed immediately by working time, peer testing, and small-group coaching. By the end, the outputs connect into a single, complete plan for making that work land.

You do not leave with notes about what you should do. You leave with the thing itself, built and ready to use.

Four practical challenges

The day is built around four moves, applied to your own work.

Move 01

Clarify the value

Pin down the problem you solve, who it affects, and the evidence that makes it undeniable.

Move 02

Find the decision

Map the stakeholders, priorities, and objections between your work and the next real decision.

Move 03

Build the narrative

Structure a precise story that keeps the technical substance while reaching non-specialists.

Move 04

Make it travel

Choose the conversations, artefacts, and channels that carry the message to the right people.

How the coaching works

A high coach-to-participant ratio, by design.

The value of the day comes from attention. Cohorts stay small so coaches can work closely with each participant, and so peers can give the kind of feedback that only comes from a room of serious, cross-disciplinary builders.

Time on your project

Focused, in person
  • Four experienced coaches in the room, so every participant gets real attention.
  • Feedback on your actual project, not hypothetical exercises or templates.
  • Small-group clinics where peers pressure-test your thinking from outside your field.
  • Direct, honest input. The kind that improves the work rather than flatters it.
Your roadmap

From a stuck project to a plan you can ship.

One clear path, worked end to end. Every point on the line is a milestone, a guided session with Guney, Jonathon, or a visiting expert who works alongside you until you reach the goal.

You're here

A real project, and something in the way

You've built or learned something that matters, but it's not moving. This is where the line begins.

  1. 1
Milestone 1 · BriefGuided by Guney

Start with the project that's stuck

Before the day, you submit a short brief on what you're building, what's getting in the way, and what progress would look like in the next 30 days. No hypothetical exercises, we start with your real work.

  2. 2
Milestone 2 · LearnGuided by Jonathon

    A short teaching segment

A focused, practical teaching segment gives you the approach and the moves you'll apply immediately, not theory you have to translate later.

  3. 3
Milestone 3 · BuildGuided by Guney

Individual working time on your project

You apply what you just learned directly to your own project, with a coach on hand the moment you get stuck.

  4. 4
    Milestone 4 · Test

    Peer testing with the group

You pressure-test your work with peers who understand it, catching gaps early while there's still time to act on them.

  5. 5
Milestone 5 · CoachGuided by Guney & Jonathon

    Small-group coaching

In a small group, Guney and Jonathon work through your specific blockers with you and help you decide what to cut and what to ship.

  6. 6
Milestone 6 · RefineGuided by Jonathon

Coach feedback and a final pass

A final round of feedback tightens the work so every stage connects into one complete impact plan by the end of the day.

  7. Your goal

A 30-day action plan, and the project moving again

You leave with a complete impact plan, clear next steps, and an optional follow-up session through Innovators Guild for accountability and further collaboration.

Guney & Jonathon are with you the whole way

Between milestones and after the day, your coaches stay available for your questions, so you're never left figuring out the next step on your own.

Programme overview

The proposed one-day programme.

A single day, deliberately long enough for participants to do the work rather than simply hear about it. The programme can be adjusted to a half-day or weekend format on request.

What participants take home

The Work That Matters Pack.

Every participant receives a completed pack containing six finished assets, built from their own real project during the day.

  1. 01

    The clarity statement

What the work is, who it helps, and why it matters now.

  2. 02

    The evidence sheet

The small number of facts, examples, demonstrations, or results that support the claim.

  3. 03

    The stakeholder map

Who needs to understand, approve, support, adopt, or champion the work.

  4. 04

    The narrative outline

A structure for explaining the work in a meeting, document, presentation, or demo.

  5. 05

    The distribution plan

Where the message will go, in what sequence, and through which conversations or channels.

  6. 06

    The 30-day action plan

The next actions, dates, owners, and signs of progress.

Participants also leave with a recording or written summary of their own two-minute explanation, where practical, so they can review and improve it after the workshop.

Projects participants could bring

Suitable for work at very different stages.

  • 01An AI or machine-learning system that needs internal adoption.
  • 02A research result that needs to reach industry, policy, or funding partners.
  • 03A new platform, tool, or infrastructure project whose value is not yet understood.
  • 04A technical proposal that needs leadership approval.
  • 05A product or prototype that needs clearer market positioning.
  • 06A complex data or security initiative that needs cross-functional support.
  • 07A scientific or engineering capability with strong potential but no clear route to use.
  • 08A technical founding idea that needs to be explained to customers, investors, or early hires.

The project does not need to be finished. In many cases, the workshop is most useful when the work is important but its next step is still uncertain.

Why it works

Attention is the mechanism.

Small cohorts

Kept deliberately small so every participant gets meaningful coaching and attention.

Four coaches

A high coach-to-participant ratio means real feedback on real work, all day.

Cross-disciplinary peers

A room of serious builders from different fields who test your thinking from the outside.

Who should join

For people who do excellent technical work.

The workshop is designed for Innovators Guild members and the wider community of exceptional engineers, scientists, and builders commercialising breakthrough technology.

Engineers

Building industrial, deep-tech, and AI systems that need to be understood and adopted.

Scientists

Translating breakthrough research into work that reaches industry, policy, and funders.

Technical founders

Explaining a founding idea clearly to customers, investors, and early hires.

Builders and CTOs

Driving adoption of platforms, tools, and infrastructure across an organisation.
